Raised in The Bronx, LaFonda’s singing and dancing were influenced by legendary artists like Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, Michael Jackson and Toni Braxton. The young diva even credits her mother for inspiring her to sing.
When the opportunity to compete and perform in front of a live national audience on BET 106 & Park’s “Wild Out Wednesday” came calling the singer tightened her bootstraps demonstrated her talents and beat some worthy opponents. LaFonda made it far enough through the series driven competition to perform her smashing hot single “OOH AHH"” for the allegiance of 106 & Park viewers. Winning a slew of new fans that night she edged herself closer to the level of bonafide star.
Since then LaFonda has appeared on MTV3, BET.com, Black Beat Magazine, Rolling Out Weekly, The Cipha Sounds Effect Show on Sirius Radio and Xpoz Magazine among other media. She attests that her rising success is from being active and persistent. In 2007 she released her first mixtape LP called Go Hard or Go Home under the precise production of Producer Playboy-Chi and his production imprint, Sleepless Productionz. Together they created a sensational blend from start to finish that received positive reviews from such DJs as DJ Bedtyme357, DJ Wayne McDonald in the UK and several others.
