Jayde Steele biography
Monday 24 March 2008
Jayde Steele was born on October 4th, 1977. As a child she began to show an interest in the arts, such as dancing, singing and modeling. “You could say as a youngster I was a ham. A Turkey ham, because I don’t eat pork.”
At the age of 17 she began modeling in local fashion shows. Hoping it would lead to a professional runway model career. Unfortunately, she was told she was not runway model material, yet more commercial. “In laymen’s terms my boobs were too big.” “I was told to lose 10 pounds and I already weighed 115 at that time. I was devastated. It felt like my dream was being crushed.” She decided to not let anyone’s delusion of what real woman should look like stand in her way. Naturally she gave music videos a try and from there her career began…
Jayde met Modeling agent Jonathan Baram at the age of 21. He negotiated Jayde’s first deal with Perfect Ten Magazine. Two months later she was posing for Playboy. “Very few black women get into that magazine. This is a shame when women of color are the TRUTH!” She then met Director Little X whom helped her a great deal as far as television work, which made her more comfortable in front of the camera.
As Jayde’s career was progressing modeling work practically fell in her lap. She teamed up with Game Entertainment for Hip Hop Honeys Vol. 1 DVD and later went on to host Hip Hop Honeys Las Vegas edition. Jayde Steele is currently the host of Hush TV (in affiliation to the upscale adult magazine) interviewing the hottest Hip Hop celebrities in an upcoming DVD.
Jayde has graced basically every Hip Hop Magazine such as XXL, Source, King, Black Men, Smooth and more…
