Jessica Hilda Mauboy (born 4 August 1989), is an Australian R&B singer, songwriter and actress. Born in Darwin, Northern Territory, Mauboy auditioned for the fourth series of Australian Idol (2006) at the age of 16 to pursue a recording career, when she later became the runner-up of the season. Two weeks after Idol ended, she subsequently signed a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.

In February 2007, Mauboy released her debut live album, The Journey, which peaked in the top five of the ARIA Albums Chart and gained a gold accreditation.

Less than seven months later, she became a member of the multi-platinum selling girl group Young Divas, whose members disbanded in 2008 to resume their solo careers.

She later released her 2x platinum debut solo album, Been Waiting (2008), which peaked within the top fifteen of the ARIA Albums Chart, and produced her first number one hit single, "Burn", as well as ARIA Singles Chart top ten entries, "Because" and "Running Back" which features American rapper, Flo Rida. The album was nominated for seven ARIA Awards, winning Highest Selling Single for "Running Back".

Mauboy has achieved five top fifteen singles on the ARIA Singles Chart since first appearing on the chart as a solo artist on 12 October 2008.

In 2010, Mauboy began her acting career, appearing in the 1990 Aboriginal musical Bran Nue Dae.
