Rihanna’s New Album ’Loud’ Edging For Platinum Status in The U.S.

Rihanna’s fifth studio album ‘Loud’ has shipped over a million copies in the U.S. and will probably snag a platinum certification in the coming weeks.

‘Loud,’ which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart with a little over 200K units sold, has moved upwards of 830,000 copies in the U.S. The music video for the third single, ‘S&M,’ which will premiere soon, will definitely add a boast to her sales.

“Never have I ever stressed out on the first week,” Rihanna tells New York radio host Angie Martinez late last year. “Ever since ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’, the first week was like 160[,000], and it grew to sell nine million albums. The first week never determines what the success of the album will be.”
